ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday termed the arrested of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan legal in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
While announcing the reserved verdict IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq rejected the plea seeking immediate release of the PTI chairman.
However, he ordered an inquiry into the incidents happened on the premises of the high court prior to Khan’s arrest.
The court also served contempt notices to the secretary of interior ministry and Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) on why Imran Khan was apprehended from the court premises.
PTI chairman will now be presented in the accountability court on Wednesday (tomorrow) as his medical examination was completed around 8pm.
During the proceedings, the Attorney General admitted that the lawyers have been tortured during the arrest.
