ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the PTI parliamentary party will be held today under the chairmanship of PTI chairman Imran Khan to discuss the election of a new Prime Minister and other ongoing political issues in the country.
According to details, the PTI leadership will consider the resignation of its members of parliament, while reliable sources said that several PTI leaders who have won the 2018 elections and become members of the Assembly are not willing to resign.
A meeting of the PTI parliamentary party has been convened at 12 noon today. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan will take the former ministers, members of the Assembly, and central leaders of PTI in confidence during the party meeting on the future course of action.
The meeting will also discuss PTI’s nationwide rallies, peaceful protests, and statements against the opposition. It should be noted that Imran Khan resigned from the post of Prime Minister on the night between April 9 and 10 after the success of the no-confidence motion.
Earlier, the former prime minister had proposed to the President to dissolve the National Assembly, on which President Arif Alvi dissolved the Assembly. However, the Supreme Court took cognizance of the political situation and restored the Assembly and the Federal Cabinet.
