DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Saturday kicked off the distribution of aid campaign among the flood affectees. In this connection, he and other party leaders distributed cheques among the deserving people in Dera Ismail Khan.
Speaking on this occasion, Imran Khan said an authentic and comprehensive transparent system had been set up for the distribution of aid. For this purpose, he added, the flood affectees would be given cheques that could be encashed from banks, thus avoiding humiliation and insult that was often witnessed during such process.
He further said, “we have created bank accounts for victims; it will help us create a database to help everyone.” He also announced an increase in the Ehsaas ration program because of rising inflation so that people could buy basic commodities at 30% lesser price.
On this occasion, he quoted a saying that if something is spent in the path of Allah by one hand, even the second hand mustn’t know about it. He said he had decided to extend help to the lowest of the class of society and in the most transparent way.
He said the PTI governments had given health insurance up to Rs1 million to everyone in KP and Punjab in any government or private hospital.
Earlier, Imran Khan inspected flood relief efforts in DI Khan and also received a briefing on the harm done to infrastructure and people as a result of devastating floods.
