Aleema Khan said on Tuesday that jailed former prime minister Imran Khan has ruled out talks with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Speaking to the media after her sisters briefed her about their meeting with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail, Aleema quoted Khan as saying that Pakistan has completely lost its ethics.
Comparing Yasmin Rashid and Andleeb Abbas, Aleema said Imran was of the view that Yasmin was being kept in jail just because she refused to bow to the pressure and quit the party.
She said Imran gave the example of Shah Mahmood Qureshi who had been in jail despite his acquittal in the Toshakhana case.
She said Imran believed that justice is dead in Pakistan after passage of the 26th Constitutional Amendment. She said that conditions in Pakistan are so precarious that even judges tell them during court appearances that their hands are tied.
She said Imran was ready to talk to the establishment if the agenda is Pakistan. She said Imran would talk to the establishment in person if the establishment is ready for this.
Aleema said Imran wanted the PTI to raise voice against the 26the constitutional amendment in the parliament. She said Imran was informed about his sons’ interview to the media and he was happy to know about that.
Referring to General Asim Munir’s promotion to the rank of field marshal, Aleema said it is better if she does not comment on this issue.
