LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has been advised to address the public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan via video link over security concerns.
Deputy commissioner Lahore Atiyab Sultan warned the PTI leadership regarding the security threats ahead of the rally. He advised that Imran Khan should address the public rally via video link in view of the security risks.
In a notification, the Deputy Commissioner’s Office said, “In light of severe threat alerts received from security agencies and as per latest intelligence assessment made at the district and provincial levels, it is recommended that ex-prime minister Imran Khan should address the public gathering virtually by video conference and LED display instead of making a physical appearance at Greater Iqbal Park, Lahore on 21-04-2022.”
The letter addressed to PTI Punjab president Shafqat Mahmood, PTI Lahore president Sheikh Imtiaz Mahmood, PTI Punjab general secretary Zubair Niazi and rally organiser Ali Warraich requested them to take timely action to “avoid any untoward incident”.
The PTI has made all arrangements for the public gathering outside the Minar-e-Pakistan on April 21. It has earlier held mammoth rally in Peshawar and Karachi.
Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan released a video message asking the masses to come and attend the Minar-e-Pakistan rally on April 21.
In a video message before the rally, he said, “I invite all Pakistanis to join this struggle. On Thursday, I’m holding the largest rally in the history of Pakistan at Minar-e-Pakistan.”
He said the masses must must come to to attend PTI’s protest rally if they want an independent Pakistan. He said the Pakistan Resolution was passed at the same spot in 1940 when Muslims of India decided to live in an independent country called Pakistan. Imran Khan urged the the masses to join their struggle for the real freedom of the country.
