Speaking to Azam after the match, Wasim said that in his opinion, the right-handed batsman is the best player in the world. “I have seen many innings, but this was at the top of the line, especially the way he carried on after we lost three wickets. There’s no doubt that he’s the best player in the world,” Wasim said.
Azam expressed his happiness after completing his third T20I century and credited the team’s success to their experienced and promising young bowlers. “I had two good partnerships, and then our bowling was once again excellent. We have got experienced and exciting young bowlers who gave us back-to-back wins,” he said.
With Pakistan leading the five-match series 2-0, the last three matches are scheduled to be played in Lahore (April 17) and Rawalpindi (April 20 and 24).
