KARACHI: Anti-Theft Cell of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board has demolished illegal hydrant in Karachi’s Manghopir.
According to Abdul Wahid Sheikh, in-charge Anti-Theft Cell Water Board, on the instructions of Sindh Local Government Minister and Chairman Karachi Water and Sewerage Board Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and MD Karachi Water Board Engineer Asadullah Khan, the Anti-Theft Cell Water Board conducted an operation in Manghopir District West and demolished the hydrant.
The operation was led by Anti-Theft Cell in-charge Water Board Abdul Wahid Sheikh. Generators, water tankers and pipes have been seized during the operation on illegal water hydrant, while cases will be registered against the accused under the new water theft law at the concerned police station.
On the occasion, Sindh Local Government Minister and Chairman Karachi Water Board Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that the scope of operation against water thieves should be widened and those who are stealing water should be nabbed and the operation should be continued without any discrimination.
On the other hand, MD Water Board Engineer Assadullah Khan said that the accused do not deserve any concession, in order to bring them to justice, cases should be registered against them under the new water theft law.
