ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in its ongoing efforts to curb the menace of illegal grey trafficking, conducted a successful raid in coordination with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Multan.
According to details, on a tip-off, the raid was conducted at Red Mohalla Allama Iqbal Multan in Multan.
During the raid, 14 illegal gateway exchange, 14 white devices, seven rounds, 3 laptops, internet devices along with other equipment were recovered. The PTA along with the Federal Investigation Agency team has also arrested a man during the raid.
One of the officials informed that the successful raids are a testament to PTA’s continuous monitoring, commitment, and persistent efforts made with the support of FIA for containing grey traffic.
Earlier in 2019, FIA Cyber Crime Wing unearthed 14 illegal gateway exchanges and arrested six accused in Sargodha.
According to details, the FIA teams conducted a raid at a house in Chak No.75 North Sargodha and arrested a person over-involvement in running 3 illegal gateway exchanges.
In another raid, the FIA team unearthed 11 illegal gateway exchanges at House No.105 Ali Park Nishatabad Sargodha and arrested two accused from the spot.
