RAWALPINDI: A telephone operator stationed at the home of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad has reportedly refused to accept the orders of senior police officers, including the DIG and SSP.
According to details, a telephone operator named Mehdi Shah has started harassing police officers and employees using the name and influence of IG Islamabad.
Nasir Khan – who has been working as a cook in Islamabad Police for 29 years – has claimed that Mehdi Shah using the influence has illegally occupied a resident flat for himself without seniority list.
According to the law, the flat is allotted to the employees with more service time, while according to seniority, Nasir Khan was in the first position and Mehdi Shah was in the 13th position.
Meanwhile, Nasir Khan has obtained a restraining order from the court of Civil Judge Sohail Bilal Ranjha. However, Mehdi Shah, along with a few policemen stationed at the IG Islamabad’s house, tore up the restraining order and illegally occupied the flat.
Hashmat Idrees, who has been working as a laundryman for 9 years in Islamabad police, has also some shares in the flat. He had lodged a complaint with former DIG Security Waqar Chauhan against Mehdi Shah’s abuse.
In this regard, the former DIG summoned Hashmat Idrees and Mehdi Shah to his office. Mehdi Shah in the presence of SSP Security Dr. Naveed, and senior official admitted that he had Hashmat’s belongings.
The DIG then ordered Mehdi Shah to returns all the belongings of Hashmat Idress. However, Mehdi Shah has neither returned the goods so far nor paid the money to Hashmat.
