The new “Office” spinoff is here and it’s called “The Paper”.
Peacock announced on Monday that its upcoming mockumentary comedy series The Paper will debut this September on the streaming platform.
Set in the same universe as NBC’s beloved series The Office, The Paper tracks the documentary crew that spent nine years following the Dunder Mifflin crew in Scranton. This time around, the crew travels to Toledo, Ohio, to document the challenges of The Truth Teller, a hometown newspaper struggling to remain in business. The series focuses on a driven publisher hell-bent on reviving the struggling newsroom.
In the first promotional photo shared by Peacock, series star Domhnall Gleeson is standing on a desk in the middle of the frenetic newsroom, smiling as he energizes his staff, as employees gaze on—giving us a first glimpse at the setting and tone of the new series.
The Paper stars Gleeson (About Time), Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus), and original The Office cast member Oscar Nunez. The series is executive produced by The Office creator Greg Daniels and Michael Koman (Nathan For You).
