The cherished tradition of Eidi, where elders gift money—often in the form of new banknotes—or presents to younger family members, especially children, remains a highlight of Eidul Fitr celebrations.
In preparation for the upcoming Eidul Fitr, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced that commercial banks have already begun distributing fresh currency notes to the public.
To ensure accessibility, the SBP has supplied Rs27 billion worth of new notes to 17,000 commercial bank branches across Pakistan during Ramadan.
Moreover, the SBP has assured that ATMs nationwide will dispense clean, standard-quality banknotes throughout the festive period, with cash monitoring teams deployed to maintain availability.

How to Obtain Fresh Banknotes
Acquiring new currency notes is simple: visit your local bank with a copy of your CNIC and request them. If available, the bank will issue the notes immediately. To ensure fair distribution, most banks limit issuance to Rs16,000 to Rs18,000 per person, which includes denominations of Rs10, Rs20, Rs50, and Rs100.
