The Punjab government has launched the ‘Roshan Gharana’ program, offering solar panels on easy installments to electricity consumers across the province who use up to 500 units.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has called a meeting of the Punjab cabinet tomorrow to formally approve the ‘Roshan Gharana’ program.
Under this scheme, households consuming up to 500 units of electricity will receive solar panels, with the government covering 90% of the cost and the consumer paying the remaining 10%. The solar panels will be provided on easy installments over five years, with lower installment amounts during the winter months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Families must reside in Punjab.
- Families must possess a Pakistani identity card.
- Government employees are not eligible.
- Families with a Punjab ID card but living in another province are eligible.
- Families must have paid their electricity bills for the last six months.
Required Documents
- Scanned copy of the applicant’s CNIC.
- Property power documents or authorization letters from the property owner.
- Recent electricity bills.
Registration Process
- Visit your local Bank of Punjab branch.
- Obtain the registration form from the representative.
- Fill out the registration form thoroughly and ensure all required information is correct.
- Attach copies of necessary documents to the registration form.
- Submit the completed form to the bank representative.
After submission, your application will be reviewed by the relevant authorities. You will receive a notification about the status of your application once it is processed.
