Police in Sindh’s Khairpur district have launched investigations into the mysterious death of Sneha Joti, a final-year MBBS student at Khairpur Medical College. The discovery of her lifeless body in the girls’ hostel has raised concerns and prompted calls for a transparent investigation.
On Tuesday, the college administration alerted the police after finding Sneha Joti’s body in the hostel. Authorities promptly arrived at the scene, and the deceased student’s body was transferred to Khairpur Civil Hospital for further examination.
Sneha Joti Keswani, a resident of Daharki in the Ghotki district, was identified as the victim. The MBBS student was in her final year at Khairpur Medical College, and her untimely death has left the community in shock.
Being a member of the minority Hindu community, Sneha Joti Keswani’s case has attracted attention, particularly from the Sindhi TV channel ‘Dharti TV.’ The channel reported that her body was discovered in the hostel and subsequently moved to Civil Hospital Khairpur for post-mortem procedures.
Contradictory statements have emerged regarding the circumstances of Sneha Joti’s death. The Khairpur Medical College administration asserted that she was found unconscious in the hostel and declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Conversely, the hospital administration contends that the student was brought in already deceased.
The conflicting narratives have fueled the demand for a thorough and transparent investigation by students at Khairpur Medical College. Concerned about the uncertainty surrounding Sneha Joti’s demise, students gathered at the civil hospital, urging authorities to shed light on the circumstances leading to her tragic death.
As of now, neither the relatives of Sneha Joti nor the police, district administration, or the college administration have provided any clarification or explanation.
