British authorities have announced a new policy to issue work visas to students graduating from the world’s best universities.
According to foreign media, the UK has introduced a new work visa scheme for students graduating from the world’s leading universities to start a future.
What is this scheme?
The British authorities have said that the ‘High-Potential Individual’ visa has been introduced last Monday (May 30) and under this visa will be able to attract the most talented students in the world. This scheme is only available to those who have graduated from a country outside the UK in the last five years.
All visa applicants will receive a two-year work visa if they have a bachelor’s or master’s degree and a three-year visa if they have a doctorate. If they meet certain requirements, they will then be eligible for other long-term work visas. There is no limit to the number of eligible graduates set by the UK.
Which university students can avail the scheme?
To qualify for the scheme, graduates must have graduated from a university that is in the top 50 in at least two of the three rankings a year. If the name of the university is on any of the three lists, then the students there will be given visas.
The institutions that rank these universities are Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings, and Academic Ranking of World Universities.
How much will the full visa cost?
The total cost of obtaining a British work visa will be 715 British pounds or US $905, plus an immigration health surcharge.
It should be noted that any eligible graduates will be able to bring their families with them, even though they must have at least 1270 or more than US 1606 housing fund.
What certificates should students have?
Students will also need to pass a security and crime check to obtain a British work visa and they must have at least an Intermediate Level or B1 English Language Certificate, which is defined as ‘Designed to communicate easily with native English speakers’.
The new visa is part of a package of measures that would allow foreigners to stay and work in the UK for up to two years instead of leaving the country after completing their course.

Ever since the visa was announced by the UK, the majority have been wondering if it includes any Pakistani university.
The universities included in this list do not include any universities in Pakistan. Countries that include universities in Germany, France, Australia and Sweden have one, three in Canada, and two each in China, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Singapore, and Japan.
