Hollywood star expresses admiration for Saim Sadiq’s Joyland

Hollywood star Alexandra Daddario is a fan of Saim Sadiq’s Joyland as the White Lotus star encouraged people to attend special screenings of the narrative from Pakistan.

Alexandra Daddario has been vocal about praising the film in the past as well.

“Come watch this brilliant movie!” wrote the star. “Special screenings 21st, 22nd, and 23rd with Lauren Mann.” The actor also shared an accompanying poster, with further details.

Daddario’s support for the Ali Junejo, Rasti Farooq, and Alina Khan blockbuster has previously been acknowledged. She previously raised her voice in support of the movie, which was outlawed by the nation’s censor board because it contained “highly objectionable material.” Daddario had previously published a tweet applauding the movie, noting the standing ovations it earned at numerous film festivals across the world, and asserting that good tales and excellent movies deserve recognition.

Joyland, directed by Saim Sadiq, tells a love story between a middle-class boy and a transgender star, and made its debut at Cannes earlier this year, earning a jury prize and standing ovations.
