ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi on Wednesday said India is falling into pitfalls of extremism, hatred and polarisation and is becoming an exclusive society.
The president was addressing a seminar titled “Understanding Hindutva Mindset and Indian Hegemonic Aspirations” in Islamabad. He said India does not enjoy good relations with any of its neighbouring countries including Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal because of its hegemonic designs.
He said the Hindutva ideology has captured the entire Indian society. The president said India is pursuing a dangerous and belligerent course which poses a threat to regional peace and security.
President Arif Alvi regretted the victimization of minorities especially the Muslims in India. He said Muslims there have not been given due representation in the political setup.
On the other hand, the president said Pakistan is becoming an inclusive society. He said Pakistan has successfully overcome all the challenges and it is on the threshold of becoming a great nation.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz also addressed the seminar and said the Hindutva mindset of the Indian government has endangered peace in the region.
The minister said the agenda of the Modi regime is based on hatred and its fascist steps have exposed the Indian claims of a secular state. He said India has been trying to undermine and destabilize Pakistan.
Shibli Faraz said Pakistan presents its perspective on regional issues on the basis of facts whereas India distorts facts and spreads false propaganda against Pakistan. He said this has been vindicated in a recent report by EU DisinfoLab and expressed regret that the world is silent over such acts by India.
