Did you know Shah Rukh Khan has been avoiding media interaction since 2021? The superstar’s absence from Indian paparazzi has been revealed by Mumbai-based reporter Varinder Chawla.
The member of the Indian paparazzi revealed that it was due to the media’s coverage of his son Aryan when he was arrested in a drug case on a cruise, which was dropped by the case in May 2022.
He said: “When Pathaan was released in 2023, my team had spotted Shah Rukh Khan and they sent it to me. But I didn’t like it because it seemed like we were invading his privacy and SRK seemed angry.”
“Then I made a call to the actor’s PR, informed them about the video my team recorded, and told them that I won’t be using it and apologised to them on behalf of my team for invading their privacy,” he shared.
He said, “You will not believe me, soon after my call, I quickly received a call from SRK’s manager who first thanked me and then informed me that Shah Rukh wanted to speak to me.” He expressed, “I was in shock.”
“From running behind his car to get a glimpse of him to getting a call from him, it seemed too unreal. I said, ‘anytime’. We spoke for over five minutes,” he said by adding, “After speaking to him, I realised his love for his children, his son Aryan Khan.”
“We just kept complaining SRK doesn’t give us photos and always hides his face. He is mad at the media for what they did to his son.” He said that after Aryan’s arrest, he spent 22 days in prison before being cleared of all charges.
“Whilst in prison, Shah Rukh Khan visited him. During this time, Shah Rukh Khan was mobbed by photographers,” he said by adding, “Since then, he has avoided getting photographed.”
Most of the time when he is out, Shah Rukh either opts for a car with dark curtains, makes backdoor entries at venues, or has his team cover him with umbrellas.
