Directed and co-written by Om Raut, Adipurush is a 2023 mythological action film based on the Hindu epic Ramayana.
The film, which was released in June, got its OTT release after more than two months. The movie faced negative reviews and severe criticism due to controversies surrounding its depiction of Hindu Gods and the use of ‘vagabond’ dialogues.
PlotAdhipursh is a modern adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana which follows the exiled prince Raghav’s journey to rescue his wife Janaki from the demon king Lankesh.
Cast
Shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, the movie stars Prabha as Lord Raghav, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, Sunny Singh as Lakshman, Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, and Devdatta Nage as Hanuman.

Adipurush is a follow-up project to the 2020 blockbuster movie Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.
Budget
Released on 16 June 2023, the movie is budgeted at ₹500 crore (US$63 million)–₹700 crore (US$88 million) placing it in the list of most expensive Indian movies.
OTT release
The digital rights of Adipurush have been bagged by Amazon Prime Video and Netflix as well. The film has got a very late OTT release.
The film is available for watching in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam on Amazon Prime Videos. The Hindi version is available on Netflix.
