ISLAMABAD: The Directorate General of Customs Valuation, a division under the Federal Board of Revenue, has adjusted the custom values for various models of the Apple iPhone 14 Plus due to the strengthening of the rupee against the US dollar. The new values for these mobile phones were determined after a thorough analysis of market rates within the country. It’s important to note that the updated values do not apply to large-scale phone imports.
In the recent release of revised valuations by the department earlier this month, the customs value for the Apple iPhone 14 Plus 128 GB has been reduced from $910 to $774. Similarly, the customs value for the 256 GB variant has been lowered from $1,010 to $859, and the iPhone 14 Plus 512GB now has a customs value of $1,029, down from $1,210.
By aligning the valuations with current market rates, the department aims to provide benefits to consumers. It has clarified that duties and taxes on these mobile phones will be calculated based on the updated customs values, offering relief to individuals using the Apple iPhone 14 Plus variants.
