Atlas Honda’s launch of the ‘BENLY e’ represents a significant milestone in Pakistan’s automotive sector as the company ventures into the realm of electric two-wheelers for the first time in the country. The launch event, hosted at the Sheikhupura Factory to commemorate 60 years of Atlas Honda’s presence in Pakistan, marks the initial phase of test marketing for the electric bike.
With the objective of assessing market response before an official launch, the company is dedicated to ensuring the production of a high-quality product that aligns with consumer expectations. Despite the absence of an official price announcement, preliminary estimates suggest a considerable cost compared to local bikes, hovering around Rs 9 lac. This pricing strategy may restrict annual production to a range of 5,000-6,000 vehicles due to its premium positioning.
Detailed information regarding the BENLY e’s features and specifications remains undisclosed, although leaked details indicate an 87-kilometer range, a full charge time of 2.5-3 hours, and a top speed of approximately 45 km/h.
The introduction of this electric bike symbolizes a shift towards sustainable transportation in Pakistan, echoing global trends in favor of eco-friendly mobility solutions. Atlas Honda’s cautious market approach, characterized by a test phase, underscores the company’s dedication to delivering an electric vehicle that not only meets the needs of Pakistani consumers but also contributes to a cleaner and greener future in the country’s transportation landscape.
