RAWALPINDI: An aggrieved and helpless man has demanded justice for the murder of his orphan niece pleading before concerned officials to arrest the killers who were roaming freely.
According to the uncle of the killed woman, Ali Shakir, his young orphan niece, mother of two daughters, was beaten and strangled to death by her in-laws over a petty issue in Kahror Pakka area of Lodhran on 4 December 2019.
Shakir said after the murder of his niece the body was sent to THQ Hospital, Kahror Pakka Lodhran for postmortem. After two months of the murder, the report was registered against the killers under Section 302/34 FIR No. 56/2020 at Dhanut Police Station on the light of the postmortem report.
He said later the police changed the FIR related to the murder and imposed Section 174 stating that the victim had committed suicide.
Ali Shakir said two months later, the police took a false statement of the accused and declared the killers innocent. “Police also took sworn affidavits of 55 people and granted interim bail to the accused”, he added.
The uncle of the victim said that the first post-mortem report proved the victim was murdered while the second post-mortem report stated suicide which was conducted at the desire of the police and killers.
He alleged that the criminals are supported by local politicians and enjoy access to the police favours. The weeping uncle of the victim recounted the story of the inhuman attitude of their rivals as they threatened every day to hush up the matter.
He questioned the law enforcement agencies asking “where should we go, is it not their responsibility to punish the killers?”.
“I have been disgraced everywhere for almost eight months. Give me justice for God’s sake” he appealed to Chief Minister Punjab, IGP and other high-ups.
