ISLAMABAD: Fog is still prevailing in the plains of the country, visibility is less than 50 meters, while national highways and motorways have been closed for traffic at various places.
According to details, fog is prevailing in different cities of the country, especially in the plains. Motorway M5 from Rahim Yar Khan to Rohri was closed for traffic.
Motorway M2 from Thokar Niaz to Kot Momin, Motorway M5 from Sher Shah to Rahim Yar Khan have been closed for all types of traffic. According to a spokesman for the Motorway Police, the decision to close the motorway was taken for the safety of the citizens. On the National Highway N5, the line of sight from Belani to Hala was reduced to 50 meters.
The Meteorological Department has forecast fog in the plains of the country including Lahore today. A spokesman for the motorway police also issued a warning.
Motorway police say citizens should not leave their homes unnecessarily. Fog lights should be used on the roads in case of emergency.
