ISLAMABAD: The hearing against former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Yousaf Raza Gillani and former president Asif Ali Zardari has been postponed till 1st October in the Toshakhana reference.
According to details, the lawyer of Asif Ali Zardari appeared before the court and filed an application seeking exemption for his client’s appearance. Farooq H Naik objected that he was not informed about the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) witness and requested the court to allow cross-examination in the next hearing.
Zardari’s counsel also objected against hearing of the case on a daily basis to which the court replied that the decision will not be taken according to his demand. In the previous hearing, the accountability court had declared former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif a ‘proclaimed offender’ in Toshakhana reference besides indicting former president Asif Ali Zardari and ex-premier Yousaf Raza Gillani.
