ISLAMABAD:Prime Minister Imran Khan will launch ‘Sehat Sahulat’ Programme for Azad Jammu and Kashmir at a ceremony in Islamabad on Friday.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will distribute the cards and address the distribution event. The health card will work in Army hospitals as well. The program includes upgrading of district hospitals in AJK.
The distribution is expected to cover 1.2 million people in 10 districts. The government has already announced a similar programme in KP. The programmes are part of the government’s Sehat Sahulat Programme.
It may be recalled that in June this year, Imran Khan while addressing a ceremony in Muzaffarabad, Imran Khan announced that his government will provide health cards to 1.2 million people in Azad Kashmir.

The incumbent government started the programme, and every family can get free medical services worth up to Rs1 million per year. The card is not issued to an individual but to a family; it could be a couple and their children, or a joint family.
The government has an agreement with the State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, which borrows Rs 2,850 per person per year from it to provide this service.
