Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf, who found himself in hot water after a video surfaced online showing him in a heated altercation with a fan, said that the fan in the video disrespected his parents and family, which led to the confrontation.
The incident, which quickly spread on social media, captured Rauf visibly agitated and exchanging words with the fan on a street in the USA. The confrontation escalated, with Rauf confronting the fan after allegedly being provoked. At one point, Rauf can be heard saying, “India se hoga (He must be from India),” to which the fan responds, “Pakistan se hu (I am from Pakistan).”
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Haris said he didn’t want to discuss this matter on social media. However, the video that has now spread like wildfire forced him to address the situation. While he is open to receiving criticisms and feedback from fans, one thing that he does not welcome is disrespect. Rauf emphasized that the fan disrespected his parents and his family, which triggered his reaction.
