A hand grenade attack on Preedy Police Station in Karachi on Friday night left at least three police officials injured, as reported by national media.
According to the report, unidentified miscreants hurled a cracker in the parking area of Preedy Police Station in Karachi, causing minor injuries to three policemen and damaging police vehicles. Fortunately, no human lives were lost.
The report further states that the explosion also damaged the boundary wall of the police station. Following the attack, police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the culprits, who managed to flee.
Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has taken notice of the attack and ordered an inquiry into the incident. He also directed the relevant authorities to provide the best medical care to the injured policemen.
Meanwhile, the SSP South stated that the attack was apparently carried out by bike riders. Police have recovered the remains of a hand grenade, identified as an RGD-5 grenade. Authorities have also obtained CCTV footage of the attack.
