Hamza Ali Abbasi praises Maulana Tariq Jameel

KARACHI: Hamza Ali Abbasi has admired Maulana Tariq Jameel, a day after the renowned scholar tendered an apology for his remarks about the media.

On a social media website Twitter, Hamza wrote, “Maulana Tariq Jameel Saahib is a good man, may Allah bless him in this life and the next.”

Maulana Tariq Jameel is considered one of Pakistan’s most respected Islamic scholars for spreading the message for peace, unity and harmony.

His latest comments about the media created controversy after he appeared on the Ehsaas Telethon at the end to make dua in light of the COVID-19 situation.

In his speech, Maulana Tariq Jameel stressed the need of spirituality, faith, and rationality in order to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

Maulana Tariq Jameel also spoke about his dissatisfaction with morality in our country. He displayed his dismay over the clothing choices of women and their desire to dance.

He went on to blame the pandemic on women and young people being indecent, prevalence of dishonesty and betrayals in society, and earning through fraudulent means.

Addressing all the anchors sitting alongside the prime minister, he said: “We lie so much, we are a lying nation.”
