A US-based health technology company, founded by Pakistani-American trauma surgeon Dr. Adil Haider, has introduced “Hami,” the world’s first AI-powered physician assistant designed to provide personalized, evidence-based medical care.
The innovation was announced on Tuesday by Boston Health AI, which confirmed that Hami is already in use across several hospitals in Pakistan, with plans for international deployment in the coming year.
Boston Health AI described Hami as an interactive tool that transforms the clinical intake process. The system actively listens to patients, capturing their complete medical history, including prior illnesses and health concerns, and supports clinicians by generating structured medical notes through its real-time, AI-enabled ambient scribe feature. This allows Hami to transcribe and intelligently organize physician-patient conversations during consultations.
Founded in 2024 by Dr. Haider, Boston Health AI positions itself as a collective of innovators, clinicians, healthcare professionals, and technologists committed to redefining the delivery of healthcare services.
Hami is built to accommodate multilingual input and ensures a language-neutral user experience, allowing it to serve diverse populations. Its deployment in Pakistani hospitals marks the initial phase of a broader rollout aimed at transforming global healthcare delivery.
“With Hami, we are harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence to bridge gaps and empower physicians to provide high-quality care — whether they are in Boston or Badin,” Dr. Haider said in a press release. “This is a new vision for accessible, intelligent, and physician-supported healthcare at scale.”
