KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Haleem Adil Shaikh was admitted to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) on Sunday.
The imprisoned PTI leader was shifted to the medical facility by jail authorities after complaining of chest pain. He was advised by the doctors to undergo angiography.
In a request to the Sindh government, Shaikh said that he suffered from angina and hypertension and the doctors had been advising him to go through angiography. The request was approved after which the PTI leader was transferred to the facility.
His spokesperson confirmed the development but also claimed that 60 to 70 miscreants belonging to Lyari gang war had attacked Haleem during his stay at the Central Jail in Karachi.
PTI Karachi chapter leader Raja Azhar reached the hospital and blamed jail authorities for not providing better facilities to the Sindh opposition leader. He claimed that Haleem Adil was tortured badly by gang-war criminals after he was shifted to jail on judicial remand.

The PTI has decided to hold protest demonstrations across the province against the Sindh government. The decision was taken during a meeting of PTI’s lawmakers hailing from Karachi.
