SINDH: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh Vice-President Haleem Adil Sheikh has said all districts in Sindh were badly affected by the rains, as the apathy of the PPP rulers continues in the province.
The PTI leader and other party workers reached Samaro area of Umerkot district to distribute tents, rations and other items among the residents of flood-affected areas on Sunday.
On this occasion, Haleem Adil said that the PPP leaders only tweets ‘all is well’ irrespective of the ground realities. He said during the last two days, he has personally visited the rain-hit areas and found Mirpurkhas and Sanghar to be the worst-affected districts.
The PTI leader said currently half of the province is inundated with stagnant rainwater, while the Sindh government has not yet started relief and rehabilitation activities. He said thousands of families have become homeless and have taken shelter at the roadside.
He said thousands of acres of farmland have been submerged and several families have been affected due to rain and flood. “The area has been submerged for several days. I reached here on a motorcycle today,” he added.
Haleem Adil said the irrigation department had received the billions of budget. “Corruption in irrigation is causing the canals to overflow,” he said.
