GUJJAR KHAN: Raja Sharif Shad from Gujjar Khan has completed the translation of the Holy Quran in his native Potohari language in a period of four and a half years.
Raja Sharif Shad while talking to MM News said, “Allah Almighty has chosen me for this blessed good deed. I started translating the Holy Quran on 27th Ramadan four and a half years ago”.
He said that the purpose of translating into the Pothohari language is to make it easier for people who speak the Pothohari language to understand the Holy Quran.
Before that his four books have been published in Pothohari. Raja said he had to work very hard to write the translation of the Holy Quran in the Potohari language.
“First I searched the Holy Quran in the market with Arabic written on the top line and the bottom line was blank and then I started writing in my mother tongue Pothohari according to the Urdu translation,” he said.
The man said during this time he had a lot of difficulties. But Allah Almighty helped him in every step. “My eldest daughter Mahesh Raja helped me a lot in this regard,” he added.
Despite difficulties, he completed the translation of the Holy Quran in Potohari in a period of four and a half years. During this time, his wife passed away, but he did not give up.
According to Raja Sharif, the Holy Quran was revealed in Arabic, it is very important to have a translation to understand the Holy Quran, when any nation has access to the Holy Quran in its mother tongue, then it would be easier to understand.
