Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has instructed authorities to block the passports of Pakistani citizens deported from abroad.
This directive was issued during a high-level meeting at the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGI&P), where key officials including Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the Interior Secretary, and the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) were present.
Director General of DGI&P, Mustafa Jamal Kazi, provided a detailed briefing on recent developments. He announced the upcoming launch of a mobile application designed to streamline passport-related services for citizens.
Minister Naqvi stressed the urgent need to finalize legal frameworks supporting the new directives, aimed at discouraging illegal immigration and preventing misuse of travel documents. He emphasized that these actions would strengthen the country’s immigration system.
