ISLAMABAD: The PLM-N led coalition government has once again seized thousands of shipping containers from trucks moving goods across the country and started preparations to stop the potential long march or sit-in of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The red zone in the federal capital has been sealed with shipping containers.
PTI Chief and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been repeatedly saying that he will lead a second march if the date for fresh elections is not announced soon, adding that he will come “better prepared” this time, unlike on May 25 when his party did not expect blockades and police crackdown.
The federal government is taking precautions in light of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s potential long march as the district administration started to block entrances to the federal capital.
Under the Faizabad Bridge, the containers are being positioned. The district government of Islamabad is blocking the roads leading to the federal capital.
Imran Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, has not yet revealed the exact date of the long march, but PTI has told its supporters to get prepared.
The former premier had claimed that only a small circle of people was aware of the specifics of his long march plan.
The PTI leader claimed in an interview with a private news station that an “unimaginable” sea of people will march toward Islamabad. He also maintained that he had kept his plan a secret in light of recent audio leaks and phone call “tapping.”
