LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has said that the government has taken firm steps in preventing the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
Usman Buzdar said that the coronavirus outbreak was not a national but a joint challenge across the globe for which the government has taken strong steps to halt its spread, he said.
According to Buzdar, the opposition parties are only busy in criticising the government. He said that the parties were playing politics on the coronavirus issue.
Buzdar further said the opposition parties were not doing anything to fight against the virus. On the other hand, the incumbent government has announced the best package for the daily wage earners, he claimed.
Earlier on Saturday, he announced a relief package for the deserving people amid province-wide lockdown. The provincial government had decided to provide Rs 4000 per family to 2.5 million households, he added.
Buzdar also announced that the doctors and paramedical staffs that were battling the coronavirus pandemic will be provided an additional month’s salary. “The provincial government will make sure that the deserving people and the daily wagers are not left alone in this tough situation,” he added.
