The federal government has decided to launch an immediate operation against illegal constructions in Islamabad, enforcing a strict zero-tolerance policy. The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
The meeting, attended by Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, the Federal Secretary for Interior, and senior officials from the Islamabad administration and police, focused on curbing unapproved housing societies and unauthorized constructions in the city.
Minister Naqvi emphasized that the operation must be carried out with full force and determination. “All illegal constructions must be halted using satellite mapping under the Land Information and Management System,” he directed, stressing that no unapproved developments should be allowed to continue.
He further underlined the government’s priority to provide world-class services to citizens and to safeguard their lives and property. “Improving the image of the police and administration in Islamabad is only possible when the public regains trust in the system,” he said, urging officials to bring forward citizen-friendly initiatives.
In addition, the Interior Minister instructed authorities to enforce price controls on essential commodities and maintain cleanliness in the capital, particularly during Eid-ul-Adha.
