Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, has advocated for investment growth, stating that the government is actively working to address the challenges faced by the southern districts.
According to the Governor’s statement, issued after a meeting with a delegation from the Kohat Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday, he highlighted that the government is focusing on the southern districts through the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), with an emphasis on boosting trade and business growth in the region.
In the statement, the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa emphasized the key role of the business community in promoting industrial and commercial development in the area. He mentioned that the federal government has allocated funds for the establishment of an Expo Center in Peshawar, and the Trade Development Authority will complete it soon.
Additionally, the Federal Minister for Information has approved the creation of a hall dedicated to cultural activities, which is expected to significantly enhance the promotion of the province’s rich heritage. The Governor also shared his ongoing efforts to strengthen economic ties between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Saudi Arabia.
The Governor further mentioned the existence of seven trade routes linking Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with Central Asia. If restored, these routes could provide a major boost to the province’s economy.
The Kohat Chamber delegation also expressed growing interest in setting up industries in Kohat and other southern districts but raised concerns about the lack of institutional support, inadequate infrastructure, and poor connectivity, which they identified as major obstacles for investors.
