ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to open 100 more utility stores across the country.
According to details, the General Manager (GM) of the Utility Stores Corporation said that about 100 stores would be opened in remote areas of Karachi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
Senior General Manager, Utility Stores Corporation, Inayat Ullah Daula said that the prime minister has decided to expand the scope of the relief package for which he is preparing a summary. The Ministry of Industry and Production Summary will then be sent to the Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC).
On the other hand, sources said that shopkeepers were selling vegetables and other spices at reasonable prices instead of at official rates. According to sources, onions are being sold at Rs 80 to Rs 110 per kg in Lahore while tomato prices have reached Rs 100 to Rs 140 per kg.
Lemons have also become more expensive and are being sold at Rs 320 per kg. Garlic is being sold at Rs 250 to 300 per kg. In addition, green chilies are available at Rs 120 per kg and coriander at Rs 20 per kg.
