NEW YORK: Google Maps has introduced a new feature to make it easier to find routes, allowing users to upload Street View data without a 360-degree camera.
For the first time, ordinary users will be able to upload Street View data from Google without a 360-degree camera, according to a foreign news agency. A new feature driving mode has been introduced in Street View which is currently available to a limited number of users.
Enabling this feature will allow users to take and upload photos from their own mobile phones without the need for a special camera, while faces and license plates will fade automatically.

Driving mode can help improve Street View, especially in rural areas where more data is not available to Google. It is not clear how Google will control the quality of data uploaded from users’ phones, but at the moment it is only speculated that this data will be reviewed manually.
