Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Talha Mahmood, announced good news during a press conference that the pilgrims under the government scheme will receive an additional refund.
Speaking at the press conference, Federal Minister Talha Mahmood said that previously, the pilgrims who performed Hajj under the government scheme were refunded 55,000 rupees, and now an additional 97,000 rupees will be refunded to the pilgrims.
Furthermore, Talha Mahmood declared that the repayment of the amount will commence from the upcoming Monday. Efforts are being made to return every single remaining rupee to the pilgrims.
He mentioned that they have brought a Hajj quota of 179,210 for the year 2024. Mahmood assured that every effort is being made to ensure there is no compromise in the arrangements for Hajj. He also suggested that utilizing sea travel, land routes, and affordable accommodation can make Hajj more economical.
Talha Mahmood expressed his desire to make Hajj cheaper in the following year. He disclosed that an additional 12 billion rupees have been refunded to the honorable pilgrims, including 4 billion rupees returned before performing the mandatory Hajj.
The transfer of funds into the pilgrims’ accounts will start from the day after tomorrow.
