Gold prices in Pakistan on Thursday continued their upward trend. The cost of gold per tola rose by Rs1,000, reaching a new all-time high of Rs309,000 in the local market.
Similarly, the price for 10 grams of gold increased by Rs857, settling at Rs264,917, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

On Wednesday, the price per tola had already increased by Rs3,800, reaching the then-record high of Rs308,000.
Gold prices also climbed internationally on Thursday. According to the APGJSA, the rate stood at $2,953 per ounce (with a $20 premium), an increase of $9 for the day.
Meanwhile, silver prices also rose by Rs28, reaching Rs3,468 per tola on Thursday.
In other news, the Pakistani rupee remained stable against the US dollar in the inter-bank market. The rupee closed at 279.46, gaining Re0.01 from Wednesday’s close of 279.47.
