NEW YORK: Coronavirus is continuing its spread across the world, with more than 6.2 million confirmed cases in 188 countries.
At least 6,267,657 confirmed cases worldwide have been reported with 373,961 deaths death since the pandemic began in China in December last year. According to the latest data, 2,847,571 patients have recovered from the pandemic so far.
Nearly 1,816,820 cases were confirmed in the United States, including more than 105,557 deaths. The country reported an increase of 938 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Brazil now has the second-highest number of recorded infections in the world after the United States with 499,966 cases and 28,849 fatalities with 1,067 deaths in a 24 hour period.
Over 396,575 people have infected while 4,555 people died of the virus in Russia. The country has the third-highest number of recorded infections in the world.
Spain has recorded 27,125 fatalities and 286,308 infections. While the United Kingdom has reported 38,376 fatalities and 272,826 infections.
Italy, which recorded its first coronavirus death at the end of February, has 33,340 fatalities, while 232,664 infections. France has reported 28,771 deaths and 188,625 cases.
Germany has reported 8,600 deaths and 183,294 infections. India has reported 181,827 cases while 5,185 deaths due to the coronavirus.
Turkey reported 163,103 coronavirus cases and 4,515 fatalities. China has to date declared 4,634 deaths and 83,001 cases, with 78,304 recoveries.
In Belgium, 9,453 people succumbed to the disease while reported 58,186 cases due to the coronavirus. Mexico has reported 9,779 deaths and 87,512 cases.
Moreover, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have reported 83,384 and 26,192 cases of coronavirus respectively, while 480 and 205 deaths COVID-19 deaths have been reported in both countries so far.
