Global coronavirus cases surpass 22 million

WASHINGTON: The coronavirus epidemic has caused 784,380 deaths in the world and affected 22,309,785 people while the number of those who have recovered is 15,053,449.

The United States ranks first among the countries affected by the epidemic, with 5,655,974 people affected and 175,074 killed. Brazil is the second most affected country by the epidemic, with more than 3,411,000 people affected and 110,019 deaths.

The number of corona patients in India has risen to more than 2.766 million and the total number of deaths has risen to 53,014. In Russia, the coronavirus has infected 932,493 people and killed 15,872.

The death toll from Corona in South Africa has risen to 12,264, with 592,144 people affected. In Mexico, 531,239 people were affected and 57,774 died. The first 5 million cases of Corona in the world were reported in 185 days while the last 5 million cases came to light in just 18 days.

The first case of coronavirus was reported in China last year in December and on 6th March 6, the number of cases worldwide exceeded one million. The cases worldwide reached 5 million on 20th May, and more than 10 million on 27th June. On 22nd July, the total number of cases reached 15 million. The total number of cases worldwide on 9th August was more than 20 million.
