The German Embassy has introduced a new Consular Services Portal aimed at simplifying and accelerating the visa application process for Pakistani nationals seeking employment in Germany.
Accessible via digital.diplo.de/visa, the platform enables applicants to complete a digital questionnaire and upload supporting documents in advance of their in-person appointments. This digital pre-processing is designed to minimize delays and reduce documentation errors.
According to embassy officials, the new system will significantly expand processing capacity by eliminating lengthy waiting lists and enabling faster response times. “The portal ensures applications are complete prior to appointments, expediting procedures at the embassy,” the embassy noted on its official Facebook page.
While in-person attendance remains mandatory for identity verification, biometric data collection, and payment of visa fees, the portal marks a substantial step toward digital efficiency.
The updated platform currently supports multiple employment visa categories, including the EU Blue Card, visas for skilled professionals, self-employment, the Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte), and applications related to the recognition of academic or professional qualifications.
