ISLAMABAD: At least two persons were critically injured when a gas cylinder exploded in a shop located in Karachi’s Maskan Chowrangi on early Monday.
As per initial report, police sources said that two cylinders exploded inside a fast-food shop, which was closed.
Two passerby sustained injuries in the blast and they were immediately shifted to the nearby hospital. The injured are now out of danger, the rescue officials said.
The vehicles parked outside the apartment were badly damaged in the blast. The police said that the rescue operation is still in progress.

The residents claimed that they had moved a written complaint to Mayor Karachi in July 2023 regarding illegal use of cylinders in the area but no action was taken.
“A food-street has been established in the Alla Noor apartments and it was fourth blast in the area,” said the residents.
They added that vehicles worth 20 million were damaged in the blast and district administration is responsible for the loss.
