RAWALPINDI: Farrukh Khokhar, the son of now deceased notorious gangster Taji Khohar, organized an illegal jirga and tortured a retired Pakistan Air Force employee.
Narrating the ordeal to MM News, Iftikhar Ahmad Kiyani, a resident of Jhat Hathial Rawat, Rawalpindi said last evening his son Muhammad Omar told him that a man named Basharat had called him to visit them and speak to Farrukh Khokhar.
According to him, Basharat said they have a dispute with some people of Gujjar Khan and they will have to hold a jirga to settle the matter. He stopped his son from going to the jirga but he insisted and they eventually agreed.
Kiyani said his son Omar told to him at Fazazia and saw him carrying an AK-56 rifle. He forbade from carrying weapon but he was adamant and the spot where Bashrat had instructed. When they reach the location, they were told the opposing side had left which led to a bitter argument.

Kiyani said Basharat and Mushtaq Bhatti along with 25 other men suddenly started beating him. Upon seeing the incident, Omar resorted to aerial firing when suddenly the armed men came from inside the compound and fired at their vehicle and burst the tyres. Then they attacked them with butt of the rifles after which he and his son Omar were seriously injured.
He said the gunmen snatched their rifles, mobile phones and ATM cards. He said he and his son Omar suffered serious head and body injuries. He alleged that they were tortured on the orders of Farrukh Khokhar and demanded strict action against the gang.
Police have registered an FIR against Farrukh Khokhar and other suspects. Raids are being carried out to apprehend the accused but no action has been taken so far.
