KARACHI: Local Police claim to have arrested two prime suspects involved in gang-rape of a 9-year-old homeless girl. The 9-year-old minor girl was reportedly gang-raped was kidnapped and gang-raped by unknown persons who later abandoned her outside a Clifton shopping mall on Sunday.
The minor girl – residing at the flood relief camp – was abducted from outside a shopping mall at Karachi’s Clifton Block 4. Later, she was found at the same place at 02:00 pm, where from she was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) after her health deteriorated, where the doctors confirmed she was ‘gang-raped’.
On Tuesday, the medico-legal report to ascertain sexual assault allegations in minor girl rape case confirmed that flood-affected girl was gang-raped in Karachi’s Clifton.
She was examined by a female medico-legal officer at the National Institute of Child Health (NICH). “The examination revealed violent vaginal rape and physical injuries,” she said. “The child’s sample swabs and clothes have been sealed for Semen Serology and DNA,” Dr Syed said, adding that the girl was said to be a flood affectee from Shikarpur.
Late last night, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon tweeted that the breakthrough was made with the help of CCTV footage.

When contacted by media, local police officials said one suspect was arrested from Defense, while another was picked up from Tando Allahyar, and that an interrogation was underway.
