LAHORE: Farah Shahzadi, also known as Farah Gogi, a close friend of Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, has sent a legal notice to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Interpol after the investigation agency requested Interpol to issue red warrants against her in a money-laundering case.
According to Farah Gogi’s legal team, registering a case against her was beyond the FIA’s jurisdiction, and the request to Interpol was politically motivated. The team further claimed that the correspondence with Interpol for red warrants against Farah Gogi is a violation of Article 3 of the Constitution.
In addition, Farah Gogi’s legal team accused the FIA of defamation for making the request public. The agency had filed an application with Interpol, seeking the issuance of red warrants against Farah Gogi, stating that it had “irrefutable evidence” of money laundering against her.
It is worth mentioning that Farah Gogi is a close friend of Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The request for red warrants against Farah Gogi had raised many questions, particularly about the FIA’s motivations behind it. The case has gained significant attention during recent past in the media, with many speculating about the political implications of the move.
