QUETTA: Four soldiers were martyred while five others were critically injured as terrorists attacked the Zhob garrison in northern Balochistan.
According to the Inter-Services Press Relations (ISPR), a group of terrorists launched a dastardly attack on Zhob Garrison in early hours of the morning. It said the initial attempts of the terrorists to sneak into the facility was checked by soldiers on duty.
In ensuing exchange of fire, the terrorists were contained into a small area at the boundary. Three terrorists were killed by security forces during exchange
During the ensuring exchange of firing, four soldiers embraced martyrdom while five others are critically injured. The military press wing said clearance operation by the security forces is underway to apprehend remaining two terrorists.
The ISPR added that the security forces remain determined to thwart all such ghastly attempts at destroying peace of Balochistan and Pakistan.
Zhob District Commissioner (DC) Azeem Kakar had earlier said the cantonment in Zhob was attacked.
He further said that a woman civilian was killed after being caught in the crossfire while five other civilians were left injured. He said the injured were being shifted Quetta.
He said a passenger bus coming from Dera Ismail Khan was also caught in the firing. He asserted that all departments were on alert and an operation was under way.
