Former special assistant to prime minister Tariq Mehmood Al Hasan, former MPA Malik Khurram Ali Khan , former MNA Jamshed Thomas and ex MPA Dr Nadia Aziz on Sunday condemned the May 9 violent protests following the arrest of Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust case and announced stepping down from the party positions.
Dr Nadia Aziz addressed a press conference in Islamabad and announced that she is quitting politics for the time being.
Dr Nadia said she strongly condemned the vandalism on May 9 and demanded to arrest the responsible culprits of these incidents.
She said she stands with the Pak army and cannot compromise on the respect and honour of it as it is safeguard of the borders of the country.
PTI leader Tariq Mehmoodul Hasn also addressed a press conference in London and announced his resignation from the party over the issue of the May 9 attacks.
Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Khurram Ali condemned May 9 incidents, saying that he felt heartbroken on the violent events of that day. He said that the martyrs sacrificed their lives for us.
He said to do politics, we first have to make our country strong.
Lauding Pakistan Army’s efforts, he said: “No matter whether it’s flood or earthquake, our troops are the first to reach the place to help people.”
She will hold a press conference at 5pm to announce her decision to leave the PTI.
