QUETTA: At least four people were injured in a blast on Quetta’s Sariab Road on Friday.
According to police, the blast occurred in a motorcycle installed with explosive material parked near a mosque where Friday prayers were being offered. The blast was detonated through a remote control device, said police.
A heavy contingent of police, Frontier Corps and rescue official and rescue teams reached the spot. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
As soon as the incident was reported, rescue teams, police, and FC personnel rushed to the spot. Four people were injured in the blast and have been shifted to Civil Hospital Trauma Center.
According to SSP Quetta, the incident is being investigated. A bomb disposal squad has also arrived at the scene and evidence is being gathered.
The law enforcers cordoned off the explosion site to collect evidence and launched a search operation in the area to arrest the culprits.
An emergency has been imposed at the Trauma Centre at Quetta’s Civil Hospital. Rescue sources said four motorcycles caught fire after the blast.
On August 11, at least six people were killed and 21 others had sustained wounds when a blast ripped through the Chaman’s Mall Road area.
The remote-controlled bomb was planted on a motorbike. Police inspector Muhammad Mohsin said that the explosion targeted a vehicle of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).
